Beijing’s Olympics human rights

When China won its bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games, it was a moment of real national pride. Beijing promised it was an opportunity to improve China’s human rights record. People outside of China had similar hopes. But by most accounts, that just did not happen. Now, as Beijing prepares to host the Olympics for a second  time, tough questions are swirling around human rights in China.
