The emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, died on Tuesday at the age of 91. Sheikh Sabah, who was dubbed as the “dean of Arab diplomacy,” was considered a staunch ally to the US and has steered the Gulf state’s foreign policy for more than 50 years.
