The deadly violence brought by militant group, Boko Haram, is still a major concern for Nigerians as they head to the polls in February for the presidential election. The battle between the country's military and Boko Haram fighters has intensified in recent months in the northeast part of the country. And a controversial deradicalization and rehabilitation program for former Boko Haram members who’ve voluntarily surrendered to the authorities is one strategy aimed at combating the insurgency.
