Pakistan orders undocumented migrants to leave

Pakistan’s caretaker Interior Minister on Oct. 3, 2023, asked all illegal immigrants, including Afghans, to go back to their countries voluntarily before Oct. 30 to avoid mass arrest and forced deportation, sending a wave of panic, especially among 1.7 million Afghan refugees living in the nation without valid documents.
Pakistan announced on Tuesday that all migrants who are in the country illegally must depart by the end of October. The order is seen as targeting the 1.7 million Afghans living in Pakistan.
