Irishman Glen Hansard is the brains behind "Once," a decidely modest production that won several Tonys. Hansard is also a singer, trouabadour, and co-founder of bands The Frames and The Swell Season. In the United States, he's best known for his Oscar-winning song "Falling Slowly" from the film version of "Once."
In a nutshell, "Once" is about love and street musicians, known as buskers. After Oscar success, "Once" went on to become a Broadway show and last night it took home a Tony for best musical, as well as seven other categories.
Anchor Lisa Mullins talks to Glen Hansard about how his quiet folk song evolved into the Tony award-winning musical.
