For today's Geo Quiz we were looking for a Colorado town about 170 miles west of Denver. The answer is Carbondale. The town is home to a growing number of Latino immigrants. They've found a haven at a local business called Garcia's Café. Reporter Sarah Hughes dropped by Garcia's Café on a recent afternoon, and sent us this report.

Listen US Mexico border fence (5:00)

US plans for a 700-mile fence along the US-Mexico border have hit a snag in Brownsville, Texas. Dozens of property owners there are refusing to open their land to surveying by the Department of Homeland Security. Yesterday a judge ordered ten of those property owners to cooperate. Meanwhile, other landowners in Brownsville can't wait for the fence to be built. Correspondent Will Everett has the story.

The World's Lorne Matalon reports that Cubans who flee their island for the United States are trying a new route: through Mexico. Mexican authorities fear a mass exodus of Cubans coming through in coming years.

A Cincinnati pastor found himself at the center of the immigration debate. This past summer, some illegal immigrants fleeing a raid at a poultry plant in Ohio wound up at Reverend Larry Kreps's church. Kreps tells anchor Marco Werman that his church gave them sanctuary, though not everyone in the congregation thought it was a good idea.

Legal immigrants say their applications for permanent residency and citizenship in the U.S. have been delayed for years. Cy Musiker of station KQED in San Francisco has the story of one woman from Iran stuck in what she calls "immigration limbo."

Sierra Gorda II: Keeping Jobs in Mexico

Today we continue with our second story about going green in Central Mexico. Yesterday we told you about a work being done to help contain greenhouse gasses: Mexican farmers are being paid to plant new trees and keep old ones standing. They’re working in a protected area called the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve. But as The World’s Jason Margolis reports from the Mexican state of Queretaro, going green is having more than just environmental benefits.

The World's Lorne Matalon reports that Mexico's Congress has passed a resolution asking the US to ease up on its crackdown against illegal immigrants from Mexico. The resolution was drafted after Mexican politicians hosted a meeting with US advocates for the undocumented.

Denmark's center-right government is looking for new coalition partners. The existing government needs more support in parliament. And it could come from Naser Khader, a Syrian-born politician who wants Denmark to treat immigrants better. Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Naser Khader, the leader of Denamrk's New Alliance party.

Australian artist Shaun Tan's new graphic novel tells the story of one immigrant's journey. The novel is called "The Arrival", and it's just been published in the United States. The World's Jeb Sharp reports.
