ByteDance faces scrutiy in US and Europe

Over the weekend, the US House of Representatives passed a measure to ban the social media app TikTok in the US, unless its parent company ByteDance sells its ownership stake. Meanwhile, European Union regulators are looking at a new app from the company called TikTok Lite, which they say defies EU rules on social media technology.
